Hello Berries! Welcome to our blog!
Updated monthly, this blog will be dedicated to a variety of things – reviews and interviews, author profiles, highlights, local events, and bite-sized poetry, fiction, and nonfiction! Our goal is to create a space where we can share our love for all things creative writing.
For our first post, we’d like to reintroduce ourselves and our story.
Our Story:
In January of 2025, four of us met in a creative writing class at our university. This class taught us the basics of starting a literary magazine, and we all fell in love with the process. After the semester ended in April, we began making one ourselves. About a month later, three more Raspberries joined the startup of our magazine, making our little group feel more complete.
From spring to summer, we poured all our energy into our first issue, Late Summer, which was published online at the end of August 2025. That same day, we had a successful launch party at a local park to celebrate our authors and community of supporters.
Since August, we’ve been diligently working on our second issue, Cozy Winter, which will come out at the end of January 2026. Our goal with this issue is to bring some joy and warmth to our chilly west coast winters.
Our Masthead:
Each of us brings unique talents and skills to our magazine. If you want to know more about us professionally, our full Masthead is on a page under our “About” page.
Amelia Watford (she/her):
Amelia Watford is our Creative/Art Director, Website Designer, Marketer, Editor. When she’s not working on The Raspberry, you can find her cozied up on her couch and doodling on her tablet.
Lillian Morpak (she/her):
Lillian Morpak is our Managing Editor and Production Manager. She can be found writing for a local animal sanctuary while her two dogs sleep under her desk.
Noelle Suzuki (she/her):
Noelle Suzuki is one of our Editors and our Photographer. Noelle is known for being a fairy princess, who has an entourage of small nymphs in cute waistcoats that follow her everywhere.
Tara Wohlleben (any pronouns):
Tara Wohlleben is one of our Editors. They can regularly be found at the side of a stream or river, in the middle of a forest, or on top of a mountain, probably trying to finish the scarf she's been working on for 5 years (that's a little long).
Beatrix Taylor (she/her):
Beatrix Taylor is our Acquisitions Editor among other things. She can often be found in a giant teacup with a mess of yarn in her hands and a song stuck in her head.
Cynthia deConincksmith (they/them):
Cynthia deConincksmith is one of our Editors. Something you might not know about Cynthia is that they have a pet bumblebee that they got when they wished for one on a dandelion.
Sam Bollinger (she/her):
Sam Bollinger is our Copy Editor. She can be found in the knowing depths of a great blue heron's eyes.
Thank you for following us along and sharing our love for the literary arts. To make sure you never miss a post, we'd recommend following our Instagram: @theraspberrylitmag, and signing up for our monthly newsletter!
Love,
