Lillian Morpak
Lillian Morpak is our Editorial Director. She is fond of writing poetry and often includes elements of nature and nostalgia in her works. She is the Nonfiction Editor and Copy Editor at Portal Magazine, 2026. Her work has been published in Counterflow, Issue 4, and she is soon to be published in the upcoming issue of Portal.

Amelia Watford
Amelia Watford is our Creative Director. She just graduated Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts with a Minor in Creative Writing. In her art, she loves to work with multimedia, combining both digital and traditional mediums. For her writing, she is passionate about fiction, creative non-fiction and poetry.
When she’s not working on various Raspberry endeavours, you can find her helping out with the Nanaimo Arts Council, or marketing for Dinner & Art for a Cause events.

Beatrix Taylor
Beatrix Taylor is our Acquisitions Editor among other things. She has recently completed her Bachelor of Arts degree and is currently working full-time as a publishing assistant. She has had pieces published in Portal Magazine as well as The Navigator.

Noelle Suzuki
Noelle Suzuki is an editor and our photographer. She has completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Journalism and is now working as the community reporter for Sun Peaks Independent News. She specializes in creative nonfiction and poetry with passion for topics surrounding mental health.
When Noelle isn't writing, editing or taking photos, you can find her frolicking in the forest or climbing the tallest peak she can find.

Tara Wohlleben
Tara Wohlleben is an editor. They have recently graduated from VIU with a BA in Creative Writing. Their essay “Living the Dream” was published in The Navigator in 2024. They were an acquisitions editor for Portal 2025, a poetry editor for Portal 2024, and also interned for OnSpec magazine in 2024. They have a love for the fantastical and whimsical. When they’re not out hiking or at home engaging in fibre arts, they like to write fiction and experiment with poetry.

Cynthia deConicksmith
Cynthia deConincksmith is an editor. They are currently working on their Bachelor of Arts degree and has had pieces published in The Navigator and Gooey Magazine. When they are not working on writing or poetry of their own, you can find them sculpting and creating pieces of pottery that blur the line between cute and creepy.

Sam Bollinger
Sam Bollinger is our Copy Editor. Her writing has appeared in national literary magazines, including Arc Poetry Magazine, The Malahat Review, Portal Magazine, and Canthius, and her debut children’s chapter book is forthcoming with Orca Book Publishers. She works as a children’s book editor on the traditional territory of the Snueymuxw First Nation.
Summer 2026 Editors

Jenna Bloedorn
Jenna Bloedorn is a junior editor. She just completed her second year at VIU studying creative writing and media production. She primarily writes scripts and short stories, and wants to write for TV. Her horror short story, Studio Apartment won first place in The Navigator's fiction contest.

Elke Sorensen
Elke Sorensen is the 2026 Summer Editor. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Media Studies from Vancouver Island University. Although her time at VIU led her towards a career in radio broadcasting, audio production, and podcasting, Elke's true love lies in writing. She most often can be found in her hometown of Maple Ridge hunched over her laptop at her local coffee shop, typing away at weird short fiction stories and monthly personal essays on her Substack Read it and Weep.
